Collection: Handloom from the East

A handloom saree is hand weaved without any electricity on pit looms or frame looms generally located in weavers' homes. A single sari requires two to three days of labour to complete, most of which is spent interlacing two sets of yarn: the warp (length) and the weft (width). The yarns used can be from the same family or from two families combined to create a variety of handlooms, including cotton, silk, and sico (silk and cotton), among others.

"Handloom from the East" is a collection of sarees sourced from the eastern part of India , mainly from Bihar , Odisha and West Bengal and is an attempt by AaMe to revive the handloom industry from this region while giving the Saree community yet another reason to drape a saree and feel amazingly beautiful in it.
